Sorry John, but I have seen too many photorestorations and photoshops in general to not notice that part of the "original" has been manipulated.
The white blotch on the right side of her veil is cloned from the upper right corner. Also the blotch on top of her head is cloned from just above it. What gave these away is the obvious repetition and the soft edges, while the real imperfections are sharp edged, which leads me to believe that the blotches on his face (visible repetition there) and her right eye are cloned in as well.

Nice job, but I'd suggest having the woman look at the camera like the man is instead of off to the viewers’ right. Also it looks like you've lost some detail in the man's pocket and the woman's dress in whitening the photo.

Sooooo Furitsu basically is saying that while the photo was probably tarnished in some way...you kinda compromised how much effort you put into the restoration when you tried to build on the orignal damage of the photo.

And I agree, the cloning is kinda obvious.

Even if you are telling me about cloning it doesn't affect me because that's what crits can see but for real that's the true one. If i would be editing the old one then i'll be always doing that stuff. one more thing is this is the first photo i restore and tried hard to achive contentment but if you insist that that is a clone then thank you very much i did it. Thank You Again for looking! Your crit always makes me strong!

Allright, works now. Great job, looks really good. The woman's left eye (our right) seems just slightly too bright, but apart from that it's all excellent! I agree that some of the damage seems cloned, though...

the man's left ear looks ...weird... its a nice restoration but i have no idea why you colored her hair that way, makes it look edited. ...not sure on this because of my age, but im thinking this photograph was originally black and white, so having it sepia now is odd... but if you wish it to be sepia now, thats great, but her hair should not be colored the way it is. you colored her hair a yellowish when most of her highlights should be white, a shine. also, in the restoration process, you've made most of the picture more blurry than it originally was. you can see for example on the man's arm on the left it used to be more clear. so having the restoration mostly blurry but the veil and flowers in focus looks weird...

your grandparents couldnt tell the difference though, they should be happy!
